Split Second was the 2nd game I developed at Black Rock Studio. I held a Principal Design Lead position on this game and was responsible for leading the creation and playability of a number of race tracks. My other main area of responsibility was that of user testing. We did more than 300hrs of user testing and data mining on SS.
Split Second won numerous best of E3 awards and was awarded a best of 2010 award by '1UP'.
It has gained a cult online following.
You can see from the images above that I was involved in all areas of the track design, from the intial concepting and docs, right through to the track grey boxing, powerplay design ideas and AI / Vehicle physics.
